God’s Kids is a non-profit organization that We Care Plumbing, Heating, & Air has supported for years. Their mission is dedicated to giving orphans hope for the future. They do this by raising the standard of care and accountability for orphanages around the world. Gods Kids provides quality nutrition, clean living places, and adequate medical care for orphans. Each orphan in God’s Kids’ program is equipped with education and life skills to be prepared as contributing citizens to their societies. Last year, We Care Plumbing, Heating, & Air’s president, Russell Cochran, donated money towards the construction of a roof to the organization to help support and spread their good deeds throughout the world.

The Plight of Orphans Worldwide

Child Protective Services and the Foster Care system here in the United States have a lot of room for improvement. While the idea of how these systems should be handled differently from person to person, all Americans can agree that our handling of orphan children is better than some of the conditions available in other countries. Here in the United States, if something along the line breaks down, those responsible can be held accountable for their misdeeds. This is not true in all countries. God’s Kids works to establish and maintain a system to ensure orphans will receive the best possible care and donors confident about the use of their gifts and donations. Organizations like theirs ensure that orphans are not abused or mistreated in the hands of their guardians.

Food and Agriculture

In many countries that God’s Kids participate in, there are food shortages. One of the methods of generating a sustainable culture is to teach these children life skills that will benefit them in their adult lives. Aside from education and spiritual guidance, God’s Kids also focuses its attention on teaching children how to care for themselves and others in more practical ways. Farming and agriculture are skills taught to these children and their caregivers. Orphaned children often lack a proper diet. Much of the food the orphans aided by God’s Kids eat are often grown, cultivated, and harvested by the organization. The orphanages that God’s Kids work with create their own garden spaces to rely less on outside funding for food.
